Ingredients

 Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce
 6 (5- to 7-oz.) yellowfin tuna or other red-flesh tuna steaks, about 1 inch thick
 Olive oil
 Butter1/2 Tablespoon (Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce:)
 3 small tomatoes, peeled, seeded, chopped
 Sugar1/8 Teaspoon (Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce:)
 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced (Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce:)
 Finely chopped basil1 Tablespoon (Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce:)
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

Preheat grill; grease rack.
Prepare Tomato-Basil-Butter Sauce.
Rinse tuna; pat dry with paper towels.
Season rinsed tuna with salt and pepper.
Brush with olive oil.
Place on greased rack about 4 inches above hot coals or high heat.
Grill 1 to 2 minutes on each side, turning once.
Do not cook well-done.
Fish should remain rare and red in center.
