Grilled Tuna and Onions Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 (4-ounce) tuna steaks | ||
| Onion | 1 Small, separated into rings | |
| White wine vinegar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon sugar | ||
| 2 teaspoons dried mint flakes | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Vegetable cooking spray | ||
Directions
Place tuna and onion in a large shallow baking dish.
Combine vinegar and next 4 ingredients; pour vinegar mixture over tuna and onion.
Cover and marinate in refrigerator at least 2 hours, turning tuna occasionally.
Remove tuna from marinade, reserving 1/4 cup marinade and onion.
Place reserved onion on a large square of heavy-duty aluminum foil; pour reserved marinade over onion.
Fold foil over onion; seal tightly.
Coat grill rack with cooking spray; place on grill over medium-hot coals.
Place foil packet on rack; cook 15 to 20 minutes or until onion is tender, turning packet frequently.
Place tuna on rack; cook 6 to 8 minutes on each side or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork.
To serve, place tuna on individual serving plates; spoon onion mixture evenly over tuna.
