Platanos Maduros A La Parilla Recipe Video

Maduros (fried ripe plantains) are one of the most served side dishes in any Cuban home or restaurant. I love them in so many ways, but how do I make them healthy and eliminate the frying process? I grill them, yea! Be sure to use very ripe plantains for this recipe. The skin should be completely black. The blacker the skin on the plantain, the sweater the plantain will be.

Editors Review

If you love your deep fried ripe plantains, but avoid it for all the extra calories it brings to your plate, then you will surely love this recipe. Juan Montalvo shows how you can enjoy this Cuban favorite dish at home by substituting the deep-fried method with grilling. Brush in some glaze before serving and voila! you have a hearty dessert ready to devor.
