Grilled Apples with Honey and Butter Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 dessert apples | ||
| Juice of 1/2 a lemon | ||
| 30 g/1 oz butter, melted | ||
| Runny honey | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Peel the apples and halve them from stalk to flower end.
Cut out the core.
Brush each apple all over with the lemon juice, then lay the fruit down flat on the grill rack.
Brush with the melted butter.
Grill for approximately 10 minutes.
Turn them over and grill until the apples start to colour.
Pour the honey into the hollows where the cores were, and return to the grill.
When the honey bubbles and the apples are tender to the point of a knife, they are done.
Eat with vanilla icecream or cream.
Alternatively you may prefer to cook these over the barbecue wrapped in tin foil.
