Greens With Toasted Sesame Seeds Recipe

Ingredients
1 lb sesame seeds 15 mL
2 lb each balsamic vinegar and water 25 mL
2 tsp finely shredded fresh basil leaves 10 mL
1/2 tsp minced fresh thyme 2 mL
1/4 tsp each salt and pepper 1 mL
1/3 cup olive oil 75 mL
2 tsp sesame oil (optional) 10 mL
10 cups salad greens, washed, dried and torn 2.5 mL
Directions
In small heavy skillet, toast sesame seeds over medium heat 6 to 8 minutes, stirring constantly, until golden brown.
In medium bowl, whisk together sesame seeds, vinegar, water, basil, thyme, salt and pepper.
Whisk in oils until dressing is thick and creamy.
Taste and adjust seasonings.
(Dressing can be made ahead.
Refrigerate in covered jar up to 2 days.
Let stand at room temperature 1 hour before serving, then shake well.)
Just before serving, combine salad greens and dressing in large salad bowl; toss well.
