Green Pulao Recipe
Preparing their favorite Green Pullav is a way of letting my family know that I love them. This is the most comforting Main Dish recipe I have come across. The Green Pullav is one of the most popular creations of the Indian Cuisine. The key ingredient here is Rice. Ingredients
1 teacup uncooked rice
275 grams (10 oz.) cauliflower (cut into big pieces)
175 grams (6 oz.) green peas
225 grams (8 oz.) potatoes (small whole)
2 sticks cinnamon
2 cloves
3 cardamoms
2 chopped onions
2 bay leaves
4 tablespoons ghee
salt to taste
To be ground into a paste
1 big bunch fresh coriander
6 green chillies
25 mm. (1") piece ginger
10 cloves garlic
Directions
1. Heat the ghee in a vessel and fry the onions for 1 minute.
2. Add the paste and fry for at least 3 to 4 minutes.
3. Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamoms and bay leaves and fry for 1 minute.
4. Add the rice, vegetables, salt and enough water to cook.
5. Cover and cook slowly until the water is absorbed and the vegetables are cooked.
Serve with "kadhi" or curds.
