Green Peas A La Francaise Recipe

Ingredients
3 tbsp (50 mL) butter
2 cups (500 mL) lettuce coarsely shredded
1 tbsp (15 mL) fresh parsley chopped fine
1 tbsp (15 mL) sugar
2 to 3 cups (500 to 750 mL) green peas shelled
12 small white pickling onions peeled, or 6 green onions chopped fine
Directions
Place the butter in a 10-cup (2.5 L) microwave-safe dish and melt 1 minute at HIGH.
Add the lettuce, parsley and sugar, blend well.
Mix together the green peas and white onions or green onions.
Place on top of lettuce.
Cover.
Microwave 6 minutes at HIGH.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Salt and pepper to taste.
Serve.
Helpful hint: Individual foods, such as baked potatoes, cupcakes and hors d'oeuvres, will cook more evenly if placed in the oven equal distance apart.
When possible, arrange foods in a circular pattern.
Similarly, when placing foods in a baking dish, arrange around the outside of dish, not lined up next to each other.
Food should NOT be stacked on top of each other.
Add the lettuce, parsley and sugar, blend well.
