Recipe Story

I was looking for a good breakfast beverage to bring to work, but wanted something a lil' lighter than a smoothie so I experimented with blending kale juice and variuos citrus juices to get a yummy combo. Tangerines, mineaolas, and lemons were utilized but, a suggestion from my wife (a lover of grapefruits) led me to this blend which I think best neutralizes the sometimes overpowering flavor of kale.

Ingredients

2 & 1/2 large leaves of kale

2 cups of water

2 large pink grapefruits

Directions

MAKING
1 In a blender jar, combine kale with water.
2 Blend for about 2 minutes or until thoroughly liquefied.
3 Strain it through a mesh strainer or a nut-milk bag.
4 Juice the grapefruits as shown in the video.
5 Combine the grapefruit juice with the strained kale juice.
6 Stir to blend well.

SERVING
7 Pour into a glass and serve at once.

Hi Eve, I agree this juice does not taste wonderful but grapefruit juice and kale have so many health benefits that when you drink it, your body with literally thank you for doing it so much good! This is a really good drink for diabetics, for those with blood pressure, persons recovering from cancer and for people trying to lose weight. If not for taste, you should be drinking this juice as a medicine! :)
