Easy Green Beans With Almonds Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 pounds fresh green beans
 
2 quarts water
 
1 teaspoon salt
 
1/4 cup butter or margarine Salt and pepper to taste
 
2/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted

Directions

Wash beans; trim ends, and remove strings.
Cut diagonally into 3-inch pieces.
Combine water and 1 teaspoon salt; bring to a boil.
Add beans.
Cook, uncovered, 4 to 5 minutes, or just until crisp tender.
Drain beans, and plunge into cold water; drain again.
Melt butter in a large skillet; add the beans, and saute 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and almonds.
