Ingredients

 
4 slices salt pork, diced
 
1 1/2 cups water
 
1 cup diced peeled potatoes
 
2 chicken-bouillon cubes
 
1 (15-ounce) can cream-style corn
 
1 (14-ounce) can kernel corn
 
1/4-1/2 cup sliced green onions including some tops
 
3 tablespoons flour
 
1/2 cup cold water, Dash cayenne, Pinch mace
 
1 pint hot milk

Directions

In deep saucepan fry salt pork slowly until crisp; don't allow it to burn.
Add 1 1/2 cups water, potatoes and bouillon cubes.
Simmer about 15 minutes; add both cans corn, and onions, Simmer 2 minutes.
Make smooth mixture of flour and 1/2 cup water, and stir into corn.
Add cayenne and mace.
Bring to boil.
Stir in milk and reheat thoroughly, but do not boil.
