 6 green medium tomatoes
 Sugar1 Cup (16 tbs)
 All purpose flour3 Tablespoon
 Ground cinnamon1 Teaspoon
 Lemon peel1 Teaspoon, grated
 Ground nutmeg1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Butter/Margarine2 Tablespoon
 Pastry for 2-crust 9-inch pie
 Sugar

Directions

Dip tomatoes in boiling water 20 to 30 seconds; remove core and peel.
Cut in 14-inch thick slices.
Combine tomatoes and 1/4 cup water.
Bring to boil; reduce heat.
Simmer, covered, 5 minutes.
With slotted spoon, remove tomato slices.
Mix 1 cup sugar, flour, cinnamon, peel, nutmeg, and salt.
Add to liquid in saucepan.
Cook and stir just till boiling.
Remove from heat; add butter.
Gently stir in tomato slices.
Cool 10 minutes.
Line 9-inch pie plate with pastry.
Spoon in tomato mixture.
Adjust top crust; cut slits.
Seal; crimp edges high.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake at 400° about 40 minutes.
