Green Tomato And Pear Chutney Recipe
Ingredients
| Green tomatoes | 1 Kilogram, chopped | |
| 600 gms. hard unripe pears, peeled and chopped | ||
| 200 gms. brown deseeded raisins | ||
| Onions | 200 Gram, chopped | |
| Brown sugar | 500 Gram | |
| 1 tbsp. powdered dried ginger | ||
| Coriander seeds | 1 Tablespoon, powdered | |
| Cardamom seeds | 1 1/2 Teaspoon, powdered | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Place the chopped pears, tomatoes and onions in the pan. Add the brown sugar and allow it to melt. Mix well.
When the sugar has melted, place the vessel on medium heat and stir so that the fruit does not stick to the pan. Sprinkle salt and add the raisins.
When the mixture is thick and sticky, sprinkle the powdered spices into it. Stir well. Taste for sugar and salt. Remove from the fire.
Cool and pack into clean bottles.
