Green Salad With Almonds And Orange Dressing Recipe
|Red leaf lettuce head||1 Large, washed, dried and chilled|
|Bermuda onion||1 Medium, sliced into rings|
|Oranges||2 , peeled and thinly sliced (One 11 Ounce Can Mandarin Oranges, Drained)|
|Jicama||1 Small, peeled and cut into julienne strips|
|Sliced almonds||4 Ounce|
|Grated orange peel||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Fresh orange juice||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Red wine vinegar||2 Tablespoon|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Dry italian dressing mix||1 Tablespoon (Use Good Seasons)|

In a small skillet, sprinkle 3 tablespoons sugar over the almonds and cook over medium heat until almonds are coated and sugar has dissolved.
(They brown quickly; do not burn.) Place in a small bowl and allow to cool.
Dressing: Mix dressing shaker jar; chill.
Pour salad dressing over chilled salad and sprinkle sugared almonds over all.
Toss and serve.
