Ingredients

 
1 slice white bread
 
1 quart hot water
 
1 tablespoon butter
 
2 cups fresh green peas

Directions

Soak the bread in cold water.
Add hot water, butter and peas, and boil until peas are nearly done.
Put lettuce leaves, parsley and chives through meat chopper until you have 3/4 cup.
Mix with 1 tablespoon flour, 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 teaspoon salt.
Add to soup and boil a few minutes longer.
