Green Noodle Beef And Cheese Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/2 pound green noodles, cooked | ||
| Beef | 1/2 pound, dried | |
| 2 cups grated Swiss cheese | ||
| 2 cups well-seasoned medium white sauce | ||
| Soft bread crumbs | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 4 slices of packaged Swiss cheese, cut into strips | ||
Directions
Put half of noodles in buttered 1 1/4-quart casserole.
Top with half of beef and grated cheese.
Repeat with remaining noodles, beef, and cheese.
Pour white sauce (made with 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup flour, 2 cups milk, and seasonings) over mixture.
Saute bread crumbs in hot butter until lightly browned.
Sprinkle over casserole.
Arrange cheese strips in crisscross pattern.
Bake, uncovered, in preheated hot oven (400°F.) for 20 minutes.
Makes 6 servings.
