Green Beans With Pimientos Recipe
Green beans with pimientos is a peppy and spicy beans recipe. Cooked with garlic and lemon juice for flavor, the green beans is tossed with sliced almonds to serve.
Ingredients
| Green beans | 1 pound, trimmed | |
| 1 1/2 teaspoons unsalted margarine | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| 1 jar pimientos, drained and chopped | ||
| Black pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Toasted sliced almonds | 1 Tablespoon | |
Directions
In a large saucepan, bring an inch of unsalted water to a boil; add the green beans and cook, covered, until just tender about 6 to 7 minutes.
Drain in a colander, rinse under cold running water, and drain again.
Set aside.
In a 10 inch nonstick skillet, melt the margarine over moderate heat; add the garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute.
Add the beans and pimientos and cook, stirring often, until heated through about 3 to 4 minutes.
Stir in the pepper and lemon juice and sprinkle with the almonds.
