| String beans | 1 1/2 Pound | |
| Vegetable oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 Small, finely chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Celery stick | 2 , chopped | |
| Carrots | 2 , shredded | |
| Chopped basil | 1 Teaspoon, dried | |
| Ground black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| 4 tablespoons vegetable stock or water | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
Directions
Steam the beans until just tender.
Heat the oil in a frying pan and saute the chopped onion and garlic, stirring constantly.
Add the celery and carrot and saute for 3-4 minutes, stirring often.
Add the cooked beans, basil, salt and pepper.
Pour in a little stock if necessary if the contents of the pan seem dry.
Cover the pan and simmer over a low heat for 5 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and stir in half the Parmesan cheese.
Pour the savoury into a warmed serving dish, top with the remaining cheese and serve immediately.
