Greek Holiday Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 4 Tablespoon, softened | |
| Powdered sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Half and Half | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Cake flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1 egg yolk, lightly beaten | ||
| Sesame seeds | 2/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. In a medium bowl, beat butter and powdered sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and half-and-half.
2. Add cake flour mixed with baking powder and salt and beat on low speed until blended. Divide one fourth of dough into 9 portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into a thin rope about 6 inches long, fold in half, and twist like a corkscrew. If dough is sticky, add a bit more flour.
3. Brush with egg yolk and sprinkle sesame seeds on top. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden. Remove to a rack and let cool completely.
