Directions

To make the cream topping: Melt margarine in saucepan.
Stir in flour.
Cook for several minutes; remove from heat.
Stir in milk gradually.
Add eggs and salt; mix well.
Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
To make the pastitsio: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Grease 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Saute onion in margarine in skillet for 5 minutes.
Add ground beef.
Cook until ground beef is brown and crumbly; drain.
Add salt, pepper, cinnamon and tomato paste.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Add macaroni, cheese and eggs; mix well.
Spoon into prepared baking dish.
Top with cream topping.
Bake for 30 minutes or until topping is set.
Cut into serving pieces.
