Great Greek Salad Recipe Video
Different Greek Salads?
In North America, lettuce is often the main component of the salad, though this is never seen in Greece. It is often served pre-dressed with a so-called "Greek dressing", a mixture of oil, vinegar, and herbs. In the restaurants of Tarpon Springs, Florida, which a sponge diving and fishing village with a large population of Greek immigrants, "original" Greek Salad does contain lettuce, but the entire salad is built around a central serving of potato salad. This is considered a separate dish from Horiatki or village salad, which has neither lettuce nor potato.
