Gravy Recipe
Ingredients
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Defatted chicken or beef broth - 1 cup, at room temperature | ||
| Black pepper | 1 To taste | |
| Butter Buds - 1/2 teaspoon (optional) | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1. In a jar with a tight lid combine the cornstarch and broth.
2. Shake them together.
MAKING
1. In a cooking pan you have used to sauté food, pour the mixture.
2. Place over high heat and scrape up any brown bits on the bottom.
3. Reduce the heat and simmer, partially covered, for 1 hour.
4. Then reduce the liquid a bit.
SERVING
5. Serve with the main dish.
TIPS
You could also heat the broth-cornstarch mixture in a small saucepan and season with pepper to use as gravy.
