Home Made Granola Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| Light brown sugar | 225 Gram | |
| 100 g/4 oz butter | ||
| 100 g/4 oz rolled oats | ||
| 50 g/2 oz rye flakes | ||
| 25 g/1 oz hazelnuts, roughly chopped | ||
| 50 g/2 oz raisins | ||
Directions
Lightly grease an 18 x 28 cm/7 x 11 in shallow tin.
Place the sugar, butter, oats, rye flakes and hazelnuts in a large, heavy based saucepan.
Heat gently, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted.
Increase the temperature slightly and continue to cook, stirring continuously, until the sugar caramelises and the oats turn a light golden brown.
Quickly stir in the raisins and press the mixture into the prepared tin, levelling the surface with the back of an oiled metal spoon.
Mark the mixture into 12 fingers while still warm, then break it into pieces when quite cold.
