Whole Wheat Granola Recipe
Ingredients
| Rolled oats | 6 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Whole wheat flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 cup raw wheat germ | ||
| Flaked coconut | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sunflower seeds | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup soy nuts, peanuts, or other inexpensive nuts | ||
| Vegetable oil | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup raisins, prunes, dates, currants, or other fruit available | ||
Directions
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a very large bowl, mix together oats, flour, wheat germ, coconut, seeds, and nuts.
In a separate container, mix together the rest of the ingredients except raisins.
Pour wet ingredients over dry; mix thoroughly until well blended.
Spread mixture onto two well-greased baking sheets.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden, stirring regularly.
When thoroughly cool, stir in fruit.
Store in an airtight container.
Serve with milk, yogurt, fruit, etc., as a breakfast cereal or as an ingredient in cookies, breads, or snack items.
