Spicy Swedish Ginger Snaps Recipe

1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 teaspoons soda
2 tablespoons boiling water
3 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon allspice
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 tablespoon light Karo syrup
Directions
Cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg.
Add soda to water.
Add all dry ingredients alternately with the soda-water and syrup.
Roll out; cut into shapes.
Bake on a cookie sheet at 375° for 12 minutes.
