Grandma's Beef Rivel Soup Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 pound rib boiling beef or chuck roast, cut in chunks | ||
| Onion | 1 Medium, finely chopped | |
| Cold water | 2 Quart | |
| Salt | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 Large | |
| Flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Slowly boil beef with water, onion, salt and pepper until tender.
Mix flour and egg with your fingers until in small chunks, called rivels.
Add to broth and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve in soup bowls with crackers or croutons.
Beef could be cooked in Crockpot for convenience.
