Granary Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 small Granary bread rolls | ||
| 120 g / 4 1/4 oz can sardines in olive oil | ||
| 4 crisp green lettuce leaves, such as Webbs | ||
| 1 beef tomato, sliced | ||
| Juice of 1/2 lemon | ||
| Black pepper salt | 1 To taste | |
Directions
1. Slice the bread rolls in half cross-ways using a sharp knife. Drain off the oil from the sardines into a small bowl, then brush the cut surfaces of the rolls with a small amount of the oil.
2. Cut or break the sardines into small pieces, then fill each roll with a lettuce leaf, some sliced tomato and pieces of sardine, sprinkling the filling with a little lemon juice, and salt and pepper to taste.
3. Sandwich the rolls back together and press the lids down lightly with your hand. Serve at once.
