Creamy Gooseberry Fool Recipe
Ingredients
2 lbs. gooseberries, or
any other soft fruits
l lb.sugar
1/4-pint water
1/4-pint custard
1/4-pint cream
Directions
Top and tail the gooseberries.
Combine with sugar and water and cook until quite soft.
Then pass through a sieve.
Whip the cream thick, but not stiff and mix with the custard.
Finally, mix all together with the cold fruit puree.
Serve in individual glasses with a spoon- full of whipped cream on top, after thorough- ly chilling.
