Golden Fig Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 3 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Graham cracker crumbs | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Walnuts | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Dried figs | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/4 cup cooking or salad oil | ||
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Grease a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan; line bottom with waxed paper; grease waxed paper.
Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and graham cracker crumbs in a bowl.
Mix in the walnuts and figs.
Thoroughly blend eggs, milk, oil, and extract.
Add to dry ingredients; stir only enough to moisten dry ingredients.
Turn into pan and spread evenly.
Bake at 350°F about 45 minutes, or until bread tests done.
Cool 10 minutes in pan on wire rack.
Remove from pan, immediately peel off waxed paper, and turn topside up.
Cool completely.
To store, wrap tightly in moisture-vaporproof material.
