Directions

GETTING READY
1)Place pears in strainer to drain. Reserve syrup for sauce.

MAKING
2)In a bowl, mix corn oil into flour until smooth.
3)Add egg to milk and add all at once to flour and oil mixture.
4)Using a rotary beater, beat until smooth and the consistency of heavy cream.
5)In a skillet or heavy kettle, heat oil.
6)Dust pears lightly but evenly with flour.
7)Dip pears in batter to coat entire surface. Remove excess batter.
8)Drop it into oil and fry into golden brown from both sides. Drain.

SERVING
9)Serve hot with roast or warm as dessert with Cinnamon Sauce.

TIPS
Store leftover batter in refrigerator.
