Golden Italian Flatbread Recipe
Ingredients
| Milk | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup quick-cooking farina | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
Directions
1. Line a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan with foil; grease foil. Set aside.
2. In a medium saucepan bring the 1 1/2 cups milk and the margarine or butter to boiling. Meanwhile, stir together the 3/4 cup milk, the farina, and salt; slowly add to boiling milk, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for 3 to 4 minutes or till very thick and mixture just begins to bubble. Remove from heat; gradually stir hot mixture into egg. Stir in the Parmesan cheese. Pour mixture into prepared baking pan; spread evenly. Cool; cover surface with plastic wrap and chill at least 1 hour or till firm.
3. Remove plastic wrap. Carefully invert pan to remove mixture onto a lightly floured surface. Cut into 8 pieces. Place on a well-greased baking sheet. Bake in a 450° oven about 20 minutes or till golden.
