Golden Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| All-purpose flour - 1 1/2 cups | ||
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All-purpose flour - 2 tablespoons | ||
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Flaked coconut | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pecans | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven to 350° F.
MAKING
2) Take a mixing bowl and combine together 1/2 cup brown sugar and flour in it. Cut in butter until mixture begins to resemble coarse meal.
3) Take a 9 inch square pan and grease it. Press the prepared mixture into it. Bake for about 15 minutes.
4) Take a bowl and mix together eggs, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla extract in it. Add chopped pecans and flaked coconut.
5) Pour the egg mixture over crust and bake for about 20 minutes at 350° F. Let stand for some time to allow cooling to take place.

6) Cut into bars and serve.
