Goan Fish Head Curry Recipe
Goan fish head curry is a popular recipe from the beach of Goa. Prepared with vegetables and curry leaves for taste, the fish head curry is made with select fish heads. Spiced with ginger garlic and added chilies for heat, the goan fish head curry goes great with rice.
Ingredients
Fish head 500 gms
Oil 5 tbsp
Tomatoes 2
Curry leaves 10-12
Turmeric powder 2 tsp
Chilli powder 3 tsp
Coconut milk 1 cup
For preparing the Paste
Coconut 1 cup
Onions 3
Coriander seeds 4 tsp
Cumin seeds 2 tsp
Peppercorns 4 tsp
Green chillies 6
Garlic 10 cloves
Ginger 1" piece
Vinegar 2 cups
Water as required
Salt as per taste
Directions
Cut the washed and cleaned fish head into required sizes.
Mix the finely ground paste ingredients with vinegar to make a smooth paste.
Cook the paste masala in hot oil for 15 minutes on low flame.
Add the remaining ingredients except the coconut milk and cook further for 5 minutes.
Add the fish head and 100 ml of water.
Cook till the fish heads/pieces are done.
Now mix in the coconut milk and boil for 5 minutes.
