Raisin And Honey Glogg Recipe
Ingredients
| Peel from one orange (white portion removed) | ||
| Cinnamon stick | 8 Inch, broken | |
| Whole Cloves | 12 | |
| 4 cardamom pods, opened | ||
| 2 750-milliliter bottles sweet red wine | ||
| 2 cups gin, vodka, or aquavit | ||
| Raisins | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Blanched almonds | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
For spice bag, tie orange peel, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom in cheesecloth.
In large saucepan or kettle combine wine, gin, vodka, or aquavit, raisins, honey and spice bag.
Heat to simmering; simmer 5 to 10 minutes.
Do not boil.
If desired, hold at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours to develop more flavor; reheat.
Remove spice bag.
Add almonds just before serving.
