Glazed Stuffed Ham Recipe
Have you been swept off your feet lately?? This yummy Glazed Stuffed Ham is sure to do so. Am sure you have had a lot of recipes passed on to you by aunts, mom, grandparents, friends, etc. It is time you pay them back by making and then sharing this wonderful Glazed Stuffed Ham.
Ingredients
1 (12-pound) fully cooked ham
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1/2 cup butter or margarine 6 cups soft breadcrumbs
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/2 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup orange juice Watercress or fresh parsley sprigs (optional)
Directions
Remove skin from ham; place fat side up on rack in a shallow roasting pan.
Bake at 325° for 2 1/2 hours.
Saute onion, celery, and parsley in butter until tender.
Combine sauteed vegetables and next 6 ingredients; stir gently until well mixed.
Score ham in a diamond design, cutting 1 1/2 inches deep and 1 1/2 inches apart.
Press stuffing into cuts.
Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and orange juice in a medium saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
Brush ham with glaze; reserve remaining glaze.
Insert meat thermometer, making certain it does not touch fat or bone.
Bake at 325° for 40 minutes or until meat thermometer registers 140°, brushing ham frequently with glaze.
Garnish ham with watercress or parsley, if desired
