Glazed-plum Cheese Pie Recipe
Glazed plum cheese pie is a beautiful frozen pie topped with a glazed plum topping. The glazed plum cheese pie is made with cream cheese, milk, heavy whipped cream and piled in a graham cracker crust and served chilled.
Ingredients
Filling:
1 8-ounce package cream cheese
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
1 9-inch Graham-cracker Crust,
Glazed-plum Topping:
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 pound fresh Italian prunes, halved and pitted
1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
Directions
Filling: Soften cream cheese, blend in condensed milk and lemon juice.
Fold in whipped cream; pour into crust; chill well.
Glazed plum Topping: Combine sugar and water; bring to boiling, stirring constantly, and simmer 5 minutes.
Add prunes to syrup; simmer till just tender, about 10 minutes.
Cool in syrup.
Drain prunes well, reserving syrup.
Gradually stir 1/2 cup of cooled prune syrup into cornstarch; cook, stirring constantly, till thick and clear.
Cool.
Arrange prunes, rounded side up, on chilled filling; spoon glaze over.
Chill 4 hours
