Glazed Ham Steak Recipe

Ingredients
2 tablespoons each pineapple preserves and dry vermouth
1 teaspoon each firmly packed dark brown sugar and Dijon-style mustard
1 pound "fully cooked" boneless ham steak
12 whole cloves
Directions
In a small saucepan combine preserves, vermouth, sugar, and mustard; cook over low heat until sugar is melted and mixture is hot.
Preheat broiler.
Score one side of ham steak in a crisscross pattern and stud with cloves; transfer to a shallow flameproof casserole that is just large enough to hold steak flat.
Pour glaze over entire surface and broil until glaze is bubbly and browned, about 3 minutes.
