Glazed Parsnips Recipe
These glazed parsnips make a lovely and delicious side. Cooked with a butter, brown sugar and cider glaze, these parsnips are easy to prepare and quickly finished in the oven for the dinner table.
Ingredients
| Parsnips | 6 Medium | |
| Cider | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 3 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Brown sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), firmly packed |
Directions
Peel parsnips, cut in quarters lengthwise, trim out any woody core.
Cook in boiling, salted water until tender when tested with a fork.
Drain thoroughly.
Lay parsnips in a shallow baking dish.
Mix together the butter, brown sugar, cider, and salt.
Spoon this mixture over the parsnips.
Bake 20 minutes in a 400° oven.
Baste occasionally with the glaze.
