Gingerbread Recipe

This is a kick ass recipe for Gingerbread which will knockout anyone who eats it. Excuse my French please. The Canadian Gingerbread is a delight to serve and enjoy. This Gingerbread is always a hit as a Snack . I cant believe you still haven't attempted to prepare my Gingerbread recipe.

Ingredients

 
1/2 cup soft shortening 2 tablespoons sugar
 
1 egg
 
1 cup fancy molasses
 
1 cup boiling water
 
2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
 
1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt
 
2 teaspoons ginger
 
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

Blend together thoroughly shortening, sugar and egg.
Mix molasses and boiling water together, and add to first mixture.
Sift together remaining ingredients, and stir in, beating until smooth.
Pour into well-greased and floured 9-inch square pan, and bake at 325°F. 45-50 minutes.
Cut into 3-inch squares in pan, and serve warm.
