Gingerbread Loaf Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, separated
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 cup commercial sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup molasses
Directions
Sift together flour, salt, ginger, and baking soda.
Set aside.
Cream butter until soft.
Add sugar, a little at a time, beating until smooth.
Beat egg yolks vigorously and stir into butter sugar mixture.
Combine sour cream and molasses and add to the mixture, alternating with the flour combination.
Finally, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and pour into a greased loaf pan.
Bake in a preheated 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out dry.
