Gingerbread Apple Bars Recipe
Gingerbread Apple Bars has a amazing taste. Gingerbread Apple Bars gets its flavor from flour mixed with apple sauce and topped with raisins. Gingerbread Apple Bars is inspired by many bakeries around the world.
Ingredients
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup unsulfured light molasses
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup CRISCO® Vegetable Oil
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon salt
Directions
Heat oven to 350°F.
Oil 8-inch square pan lightly.
Place applesauce and raisins in small saucepan.
Cook and stir on low heat until mixture comes to a boil.
Remove from heat.
Stir in molasses and baking soda.
Cool slightly.
Combine eggs and sugar in large bowl.
Beat in 1/4 cup Crisco® Oil gradually.
Combine flour, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt in small bowl.
Add to egg mixture alternately with applesauce mixture, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Spoon into pan.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan on cooling rack.
Cut into bars.

excellent recipe!!!...only thing i changed because I was givin a bushel of apples is I made the applesauce from scratch for the recipe and cooked my raisins ( add some cranberries) in rum, the day before and allowed to cool in the fridge for them to completely absorb the flavor....
