Directions

Preheat oven to 375°.
Grease pans.
Combine the molasses with the boiling water and baking soda.
Allow to cool.
Cream butter with sugar.
Add molasses water to the creamed butter.
Add the salt, ginger, and cinnamon; beat well.
Sift flour with baking powder.
Add egg and flour to the mixture.
Batter should be very thin.
If the batter is not very thin, add a little milk so that it runs off the spoon.
Pour into prepared pans; bake for 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to 300° and bake for 20 minutes more.
Milk may be substituted for water.
