| Boiling water | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) |

Directions
Make a well and add first the oil, then brown sugar and egg.
Mix molasses and boiling water and add to batter.
Beat until smooth.
Turn into a greased 8-inch square pan.
Bake in a 350° oven 35 to 40 minutes.
