Ginger Cookies Recipe

Ingredients
Sifted flour - 5 cups
Soda - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
Nutmeg - 1 teaspoon
Ginger - 3 teaspoons
Butter - 2/3 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Dark molasses - 1 cup
Eggs - 2, beaten
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Grease baking sheets with butter.
MAKING
2) Combine and sift the flour, soda, salt, and spices.
3) Cream the butter and add the sugar.
4) Beat well till light and fluffy.
5) Blend in the molasses and eggs.
6) Add in the dry ingredients and mix well.
7) Refrigerate for several hours.
8) On a lightly floured board or pastry cloth, place the dough and roll out to 1/8-inch thickness.
9) Using floured cookie cutters, cut the dough.
10) Arrange on the baking sheets.
11) Place in the oven at 375° F and bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
12) Place on a rack and cool.
SERVING
13) Decorate with butter cream frosting and cookie decorations.
