Aromatic Ginger Blue Crab Recipe Video
Ginger blue crab is one of my favorite seafood dish from our Asian community. Blue crabs are delicious and the ginger and green onions enhance the flavors of this wonderful crab recipe. Well, cooking crabs can be difficult when you don't know how to clean and prepare them for cooking, so we also show how to clean blue crabs for cooking. Cooking Ginger blue crab dish takes just about 5 minutes, its the simplest crab recipe one can find.
Ingredients
3-4 Blue crabs
1/2 cup rice flour
3-4 green onions
2 tbsp sliced ginger
2 tbsp rice cooking wine
2 tbsp dark soy sauce
3/4 cup broth
Pinch of salt or to taste
1/2 cup cooking oil
Directions
Pull out the apron of the blue crab.
To remove the shell, cut the crab from the back and pull that part away from the shell. chop off the facial part and remove the lungs. Take the other half and separate it from the shell. Cook the shell also because there is an edible part in it.
Wash the crab parts under running water, use a scrub to remove sand from the crab.
Crack open the claws with the help of a knife.
Take the crab in a bowl and add the flour.
Toss them up to mix.
Chop green onion to 1" long pieces and chop ginger in large pieces.
Take oil in a wok and add sliced onion and ginger. Saute for a while before adding the crabs.
Add crabs and mix well. Cook for about a minute.
Now add cooking wine, chicken broth, soy sauce and salt.
Put the cover on and let it cook for 1 minute over medium high heat.
Serve in a plate.
