Easy Ginger Pudding Recipe
Ingredients
| Plain flour | 1/2 Pound | |
| Ground ginger | 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Soda bicarbonate | 1 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| 4 oz. finely-chopped suet | ||
| Sugar | 3 Ounce | |
| 1 tablesp. Treacle | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk to mix | ||
Directions
Grease a 2-pt. basin.
Prepare the suet.
Sift the flour, ginger, salt and bicarbonate of soda into a bowl.
Add the finely-chopped suet and sugar.
Stir in the treacle, beaten egg and sufficient milk to make a soft dropping consistency.
Put the mixture into the basin; cover.
Steam for 2 hr.
Turn out and serve with a sweet sauce.

I used to amke this a lot in Australia. I live in the US now so I make it with cooking marge, instead of suet, and a little molasses if i don't have any treacle or golden syrup. Honey would work too. It's delicious witha sweet white sauce.A lemon sauce is also good.
