Ginger Balls Recipe
Ingredients
| Shortening | 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), melted | |
| Sugar | 1 | |
| Molasses | 1 Cup (16 tbs) (light) | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| All purpose flour | 3 Cup (48 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Cloves | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Ginger | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon |
Directions
In a large bowl, cream shortening and sugar.
Stir in molasses and egg.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt.
Add flour mixture gradually to molasses mixture.
Stir until dough is smooth.
Mould into 1-inch balls, roll balls in sugar, and bake in a 375°F oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until ginger balls are light brown.
