Ingredients

 
1 (32-ounce) jar sauerkraut, drained
 
2 Golden Delicious apples,quartered, sliced
 
1 cup apple juice
 
1 bay leaf
 
8 juniper berries (optional)

Directions

Combine all ingredients in large saucepan.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to medium.
Simmer 15 minutes or until apples are tender and liquid is almost evaporated, stirring occasionally.
Remove bay leaf and juniper berries before serving.

That's pretty much the Bavarian recipe I remember. You can substitute white wine or pineapple juice for the apple juice.
