German Onion Tart Recipe
Ingredients
| Onions | 3 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced | |
| 3 tablespoons butter or bacon fat | ||
| Dairy sour cream | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 eggs, slightly beaten | ||
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground ginger | 1/8 Teaspoon, baked | |
| Caraway seeds and paprika | ||
Directions
Saute onions in butter slowly until soft and golden.
Add all except last 3 ingredients to onions; turn into pie shell.
Sprinkle with caraway seeds and paprika.
Bake in preheated very hot oven (450°F.) for 10 minutes; reduce heat to moderate (350°F.) and bake for 30 minutes longer, or until a knife blade inserted in the tart comes out clean
