German Green Beans Recipe

2 cup green beans
 
1 slice bacon
 
1/4 cup onion, chopped
 
1 tsp flour
 
1/4 cup vinegar
 
1/2 cup water
 
2 tsp sugar

Directions

Cook green beans in boiling salted water until tender; drain.
Cut bacon into 1/2 in. (12 mm) pieces.
Place in skillet; add onion.
Saute until bacon is crisp and onion is tender; drain.
Blend flour, vinegar, water, and sugar replacement in screwtop jar.
Pour over bacon and onion.
Cook over low heat to thicken slightly.
Add green beans.
