German Crinkles Recipe

Ingredients
2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup vegetable shortening, softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar replacement
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 1/2 oz. baking chocolate, melted
1/3 cup skim milk
1 1/4 cup hazelnuts, finely ground
Directions
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Set aside.
Cream shortening, sugar replacement and vanilla extract.
Beat in eggs and melted chocolate.
Alternately, add flour mixture with milk to creamed mixture.
Blend in hazelnuts.
Chill 4 hours.
Form into balls.
Place on greased cookie sheet with space for cookies to spread.
Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 12 to 15 minutes.
Cool slightly; remove from pan.
Set aside.
